    Is there any precautions in doing the exhaust side when you have the decompression system that is on my 1972? Can I use some Permatex on the gaskets or do I need to order more new parts. Just getting my ducks in order prior to my frustrating carb issues. thanks jack

    Thanks for all the tips, I am convinced (or am hoping) that the carbs need a complete cleaning, I do have new jets that I ordered,and throttle shaft seals just in case so I will get the carbs off and on the bench.     No, but I think the "pro" shop that did some repairs late last year before storage did. Has good compression feel under the kick start, but I will buy a compression tester and give that a whirl.
