Everything is fused .Going to slow charge the battery and test again as I didn't want to try and decipher voltages based on a battery that would start and run but wasn't fully charged due to the fuse
So far checked my bikes other accessories and found no issues
Wired in new reg and rode my kiddo (bikes owner ;)
around the yard about 3 miles worth
Will update
Was OK for little while then.no charging again
So far it has blown a fuse on the + connection of the regulator
Replaced a 15a I had...
No doubt I figured being a hard worker during the week like I am that it would be during the week before I would get with him. I guess I just stated it factually as it seems many was saying get with Hugh
There was no doubt we will get it sorted one way or the other being as I was free on the...
So far I've emailed him on Saturday still waiting for a response and done nothing but an inspection to my install which to me seems like the 3 connections I had to make to my bike are solid
Hopefully I'll get an answer of some sort from him tomorrow
Thanks everyone for your input I appreciate...
Stand alone system it makes three connections to the bike
One + one - to the battery
One to a keyed/switched 12 volt source
Pretty sure those are solid
Ill check those solder joints better when the bikes 3 year old owner as and my pit crew partner arrives later
I pushed it in the corner and grabbed my other bike for a much needed ride :)
Well in my defense and a rather weak one the kit had a removal tool in it so thought I was good.It only fits Hugh's flywheel not the OEM and by the time I was to it I figured it was no longer needed and just skipped making a proper tool .Duh I know my bad
I've now done a cursory exam and the windings that were once white are now brown .
Not more than 10 minutes total time on them
No pinched wiring etc which leads me to believe poor quality or design flaw
Will try to post a pic later
I agree with you on the beta testing but claims were made that the setup was tested etc
I ruined my rotor removing it so now I need a complete one to replace it
Used a crappy 2 jaw puller on it as it was shorted and I figured I was done with stock stuff....dammit lol
Don't know what's been posted .Received mine last week and have slowly been installing it after work.
Haven't contacted anyone yet either
Just looking for advice at this point as I'd really like to ride rather than look at my bike summers here
So been without my xs for a couple months due to lack of availability to me of a good used or new charging system rotor
I bought the new combo kit from Hugh's and while I'll save my review for later I'm having a serious issue with the stator wiring getting way too hot
First start up I didn't...
Had a problem with carbs earlier this year
O ring around seat for needle was leaking. Caused similar issue until the oring finally gave it up and was leaking way too much fuel
Replaced the ring been like new since
