Just FYI The harbor Freight 17mm Hex Driver will NOT fit inside the upper tube. Hence me asking the question. I didn't get a response and I've wasted another $14. Haha. This damn bike will be the end of me. No idea what to do now. I'm not looking to loosen the cap.. that came off easy...

I meant the 17mm Hex head thing he mentioned. The bolt welded onto an old socket.. I ahve no ability to make that.

I just realized this; The PO had the main axle in the opposite way. The main nut is on the caliper side. Could this have something to do with the wear on my rotor and brake mount? Can I just some new pads and reorient the axle? Ima try that at least.

Thanks.. This is what I was looking for. Not sure, but I remember reading somewhere that if you get the right regulator, you don't need the nylon screws. Is there any way of finding out if that's true?

Unfortunately, my bike is an amalgamated Frankenstein hand built by a 4x4 enthusiast. So I have no idea what charging system is in place. It's registered as a '72, just to get by without blinkers I think. The motor is from a '78 I think, the carbs, no idea. Nothing really matched up. Nothing on...
