    hi there to get the cases apart i get a stanley blade .put it in the joint belowe the head studs and tap gently with a hammer may need to put two in at opposit sides workes well for me

    on my 77 it would do 115 mph but i was only 10 stone 30 years ago now on my 81 105mph tops at 16 stone the 81 isnt quite as power full as the old 77

    i had much the same problem .it was fine on tick over and midrange and went realy well on full throtle but tickover to midrange was crap .it was a small pinprick size hole in the diaphram ,didnt see it till it was held up to the light .diffrent bike after replacing them both,,,

    Easiest way to get the engine back in?

    i lift it on to the right hand bottom frame tube .put one arm over top frame tube and lift it in .bottom first once its in put trolley jack under sump to get bottom long bolt in. then have a coffee before fitting other mounts..

    yes it does 5.2ohm charges well 13.4v at tickover 14.4v at 2700rpm its nice to see where im going at night makes a change cheers

    yeh i read a post saying that but was unsure about the clearance between rotor and pickup also the pull on the new magnet rotor was the wrong polarity compared to the original rotor magnet didnt know if that made any diffrence many thanks

    hello can anybody tell me if a 78 7 plate clutch complet will fit straight on to my 81 im suffering with very bad clutch slip when warm.or is a 6 plate clutch good with new plates and springs many thanks
