Seems like a waste to me...

Why? I would think because they are different and not many people would have something like this. Custom comes in all shapes and sizes. Appreciate the difference!

Carb Parts - where to find

Folks, I was wondering if someone could help me locate a couple of parts for my BS34s. I am in need of the butterfly looking part that connects the two carbs up near the top. I am also looking for the connector plate that also connects the carbs and runs across them near the top. Both...

    Bearded Lady 2011 in Minneapolis...

Just checking to see if we're gong to have a contingent at the show this year? I'll be wearing the nice looking XS650.com work shirt (thanks again, Travis!). Who else is going? Does anyone have their bike entered into the mix? I'm pretty sure the guys from Speed Club have a booth...

How much rust is too much?

So I'm putting my chop back together with a sporty tank (that looked clean inside). I opened up the petcock and tied to kick her over. Since it won't start, I took the carbs back off for a cleaning and realized the gas left in the bowls was rust colored. There were no rust flakes in the...

    The rectifier and regulator

The more air you can provide those components, especially the rectifier, the longer they should live and function. That being said, I've seen people put them into fake oil canisters to hide them. Your call. If you search on the subject, you will find what I'm talking about. Good luck!

Thanks Leo for the assistance. I was told by another member that you can run both points in parallel with the condenser running with this coil and still use the stock single lobe cam. I'll try and find it.

Now for the game of "Name that Electical Part!" Come on down!

@ Aussie... The rectifier converts the alternating current into DC current the bike can use. The regulator then keeps the current at a constant the level the bike needs to operate optimally. Benefit is it's new electronics, cheaper than replacing with NOS, and it's more reliable than the NOS...

I'm pretty sure the dual output coil I got from MikeXS (PN: Part #17-6822) is the right one for this application. Dual Lead Ignition coil for use with single contact point type conversions or Early type Boyer Digital Ignitions. 12 Volt, 4.5 Ohm Primary Resistance, 102mm.

Hands on assistance in Saint Michael, MN

I've read them all, many times. So I am either missing something, still don't understand the subject, or don't have the skill. Which is why I am trying to get someone to assist. Old Points system with new single high output coil and new plugs No adjustment on the valves Not sure on the cam...
