This came on the bike I am currently rebuilding. I was told it was reupholstered and it looks great. I am asking 100.00 OBO for the seat plus shipping and handling. Send me your email and I will give you a quote for shipping. I think shipping for a seat is in the ballpark of 50.00. I am...
I have switched out the gas tank on my bike to a xs550 tank and am selling my current tank. I am not sure the year for the tank and am wondering how many variations of xs650 tanks there were. The bike I bought is a 1975 but mods were done to it by the PO. I will be posting this in the sale...
Now that light is truly impressive and for 600.00 to 700.00 I would expect it to shoot lazers to blast drivers trying to run me off the road to oblivion. A little too steep for my blood right now but I am sure over time the prices may become more reasonable. Very cool to see that...
Well, that is the kind of info I was not sure about. I guess just because it has been done does not mean it is the way to go. The lumen value is 1260LM and it is rated as Power: 30W. It also states that the lens design allows the light to focus on the front and sides of your path. So yeah I...
So after doing some research I decided I may want to go with a different approach to the whole double headlight aspect and go for the single. What I found was a 4 1/2 inch harley fog light that may fit the bill. I am attaching a photo of what I am thinking and the light itself. I found a...
Yeah, they do have high and low beam. Thanks for the response. I am sure different light sets have different power requirements so I will keep that in mind and try to find a comparison to the standard bulb. If anyone has any hands on experience with the best set up for the 650's lemmie know...
Very cool info. Sorry for the nube questions. I am wondering if a these led new lights pull the around same amount of current as an older incandescent single headlight. I guess I have some research to do on that. If anyone has done it on the forum please post some photo's thanks.
I wanted to know if anyone has taken the simple three prong headlight set up and modified it out for what it takes to switch to a double led light set up. The first photo is just a possible direction for the lights purchase and the last three is the end result I am shooting for (Actually the...
Thanks for the hook up on connectors. That does sound like the best way to approach this. The PO on this bike did go a little half assed on the electrical. I've never even heard of liquid electrical tape. Sounds interesting and worth some research.
I think the battery is holding a charge so I am going to start looking for burnt wiring and or spliced wiring. Electrical is not my thing but hopefully I will find the problem to help someone out down the line if not I may be picking your brains again. Thanks again!
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I thought this thread was going to be a bust. I could not find out what is actually attatched at the bottom of the battery box and that is the area the smoke came from. Any idea what that actually is? It is a black rectangle around 2" by 3"with wires in...
So, I just picked up this bike a few months ago and have been working on the gas tank and slight performance upgrades. Nothing that has to do with electrical in the least. I disconnected the headlight working on the forks and had to reconnect all the wiring. I run the bike once a week to get...
