    That is what my neighbour suggested: remove the head, have the spark plugs hole enlarged, rethreaded, and install helicoils. I can buy another xs650 motor (447) which has a decent head for 40$. Would the head fit and work with my older engine? gabriel

    Thanks everyone, the bike is in my garage, but the seller wants me to make an offer first. 275$? She needs a top end job (spark plug holes are stripped) for sure, the tank is really rusty, and all the chrome and aluminium need to be changed/polished. I haven't looked at the brakes and engine...

    As far as I can tell, only the enter stand is missing. I was surprised to see Solex carburetors, I thought they had Mikunis then? gabriel
