I've worked on Yamaha's at the dealer level since 1972. Started out assembling new bikes including XS2's. Went to a 2 week factory school in 73 and all factory schools since then. Been working on em ever since.
Astronomy, motorcycles, fine Scotch and ladies. The order gets mixed up quite a bit.
Early 70's I owned 2 XS1-B's. Then I rode dealer demos until 97. My current bike is an 80 650 special, 270 re-phase. I'm running it with stock bore and stock re-phased cam by MR. Riggs. Stock 78 special carbs and re-phased points (not the Bertaut mod). Also 2 green monster coils to replace Yamaha's weak link. I actually have a method of mounting them under the tank, for the brave at heart!
