I started off the Mini bikes in the 60s and learned quickly. I put an engine in my Dad’s truck at 10 years old. I have been employed in some kind of mechanical capacity most on my life including as a R&D machinist and welder and later as offshore platform operator for years. I became interested in the Yamaha XS650 while looking for a Triumph TR6 to restore. I saw a XS1 on eBay that reminded me of my old 68 DT1 and thought it would be cheap and fun to restore to ride on the road.
Currently an 1971 xs650,1980 and 1982 xs650 in the past numerous Hondas, Kawasaki’s and several Harley Davidson’s several dirt bikes and too many others to list
