    Just a Heartfelt "Thank you"

Thanks to all on this board who helped get my 81 back on the road. She was the first bike I took out in 2020 on our 1 Jan chapter ride. Upon return home after about a 100-mile ride, battery read a healthy 12.8 volts; horn functions as it should; neutral light is neutral-ing. For now, she is...

Part III - Spark (Yay!) But No Electric Start, No Horn

Yes... Said they were sorry, restated that they've had no issues with the harness, that they'd look into it, and that they're glad my bike is running again. Finally, that they were there for any other parts I might need. I didn't respond. Their bad harness cost me 2 1/2 weeks, lots of...

Well ... Slow down there, pardner. Let's not get carried away here, ya?!?

And, horn fixed. Just had to order a new button. Old one was covered with build up then it broke when we took it out. AND, because she's no longer broken, getting new sneakers fitted tomorrow. All set for spring!

Thanks XSLeo, I'll get on that today after I finish basking in the glow of having repaired *most* of the electrical problems. I only use the horn to talk to the local cows anyhow.... (Insert cow emoji here)

Yeppers. Again,. I'm drinking beer tonight for sure (happy beer, as opposed to my usual "I wonder if Tim really will come get it" beer)!

Awesome advice and, no, the stupid neutral light was not on. So cleaned that thing up and YEE-HAW - it's charging, starts with button, runs! I'll throw the new relay into the spare parts bucket. 29 Sep we broke down with electrical problems - it's 4 Dec. Seems so simple and obvious, looking...

If the new relay doesn't solve things, I'll have a beer and move on toward either/both the neutral switch and/or clutch switch.

NOS relay on its way.... standing by to stand by. But - apparently made some progress today. It will run again, just in time for the first snow. Tim - you've already had your first snow (all ok?) but I have a couple more weeks (I think). Thank you all, once again.

Found it - starter circuit cutoff relay appears to be bad.... Jumped across it and had electric start. Still no horn but that could be a separate problem I suppose.

Appears we aren't getting power to solenoid?

Starter did not energize when grounding the blue white wire.

Did that earlier, still no horn and no electric starter.

The ground wire on the horn side looks good, clean and intact. Followed into headlight bucket where all bullet connectors seem tight fitting and clean and where they meet the main harness ground looks good as well. Signal light grounds look good and ground clips on both sides appear to be...
