    erratic idling

Most carb threads I've read you're the one bringing the drama. You were never asked directly for information. You choose to jump in and be patronising to people learning. Part of a cohesive learning process is asking questions. Just prior to your involvement in this thread, my question was...

    erratic idling

:wtf: Wow, I was right, his a fiery bastard the one who know about carbs.... ahhh thanks? for the help buried somewhere throughout the scathing criticism and scorn... I tried to be overly thankful for the guide (which is awesome) but seriously your attitude can go eat a dick. I came here...

    erratic idling

Cheers grizld1 your carb guide was my starting point of research. Most went over my head first few times I read it. After that I've been trying to find baseline for pods and straights, but the more I read the more I think that baseline is pretty damn adaptable. Thanks a lot for that guide it...

    erratic idling

So it seems the carb wizards are fiery bastards - most likely from absorbing too much petrol over yrs of pulling carbs apart. Most threads I've read offer little insight, just claims of "not this again" and general scorn... so I delved deeper and discovered some of their earlier transcripts...

76 hardtail - yet to be named build

7 metal west, 6 inch wide. Came via lowbrow when they were stocking them, so I got it without 7 metals well known 'delays'. I have a new build that I've just ordered lowbrows ribbed fender for - I'm guessing it'll be the same as 7 metals, just without the wait!

    erratic idling

Cheers - thanks for the advice. Anyone able to point me in the direction of jetting for that setup? I've been doing a lot of reading but most posted 'perfect' setups are for stock airbox and pipes.

76 hardtail - yet to be named build

Small update been doing some engraving just with a cheap pin style engraver and a rotory tool. Added a oil pressure gauge - doesn't do much due to the low pressures the xs runs.

    erratic idling

I'm having trouble with my idle, here are some details. Bike won't idle when cold, needs throttle, starts easy but can't use enricher that kills the bike straightaway. When hot the bike seems to either idle high or low never seems to find sweet spot. Not sure of the jetting, going to pull...

76 hardtail - yet to be named build

Sorry I thought I got notifications if someone posted a reply - seems I didn't. National safety standards say "If suitable protection is afforded by the frame or other construction of the motorcycle, the front mudguard need only cover the area that is unprotected." :wtf: I just put one on...

were do i buy wire at to wire my bike

Good quality 7 core trailer wire is what I used to make a lot of my stripped down loom. That way it's double insulated, nice and tight outer sleeve with 7 different colours.

How to: one stop, step by step starter delete

Haha the same point came up in all the other threads about this. I should've summarized that as well; 1. You can run no battery (capacitor instead) or tiny little Lithium batteries like the ballistic or Shorai options. 2. Cut weight. Not many would really need this but it sounds good. I'll...

How to: one stop, step by step starter delete

I'll start by saying I'm not writing anything new, just accumulating what is already out there into one easy to read post. To pay homage I quoted everyone I could. This is for the freeze plug method. I'm not sure who first figured this out, but props to Punkskalar and 5twins for the good tech...

    Aussie build

Getting engineered/rego isn't difficult. Any frame mod requires engineers letter. At a basic level as long as it looks good (no bird shit welds) and you can produce evidence a certified welder did the work (a letter that looks legit - it doesn't get checked) you'll be fine. But the reality is as...

Main fuse size - 30amp blowing

I have now done some searching and the stock fuse was 20amp? So doubling the size is not a good idea... I'll clarify a little; the fuse blew, so I replaced it and went for test ride, few minutes of riding and it blew again, replaced it road side and it only lasted a few seconds this time...

Main fuse size - 30amp blowing

Just recently my bike started blowing the 30amp main fuse. It does it intermittently so it's a little difficult to diagnose. I have done wiggle tests on all wires without luck. It's all new and looks good. I had friend who knows a bit about this stuff have a look and we couldn't find anything...
