I have recently completed a cafe racer project and all is oil tight but for these seals. I haven't had this as a problem before so I guess that I have just been lucky.

Between the 2 x XS650D and XS1100, I have 7 x calipers and have changed all of mine to stainless machine screws. I just place an old nut on the new screw, file the end to match the OE and unscrew nut to clean up the thread.
Has worked a treat every time.
We have his and hers XS650s in the garage and came across this poor waif that had sat around unloved for over 20 years, so I wanted to offer it a loving home. Currently deciding on a standard rebuild, a cafe racer or a spares donor.
