Haha thanks!.. Yeah i use basically the same technique to build a bare pan up too. Just have to have a variety of some denser foam at the bottom and softer foam as you get to the top...

Using just a metal cut off wheel in the angle grinder and then a coarse thick grinding disc to do the final smoothing... Ive tried almost everything and that is the most efficient way! lol
Spent some time this week filming in the shop while I was reshaping and re-covering a leather shovelhead seat, and put together this short video. I know its not an xs seat, but thought people might dig a how its made video...

I dont have any made at the moment.. But i actually acquired an early xs 650 a year or two ago that might be a good bike to build one off of. What year is your bike? Ill have to dig through my storage trailer and see what year the one i have is....

Sounds like with oversize, pods, and straight pipes you are going to look at richening rather than leaning out... Try upping the pilot by a size or two. Might even richen that needle too..

For now i got the battery box going! This is the first part ive ever welded and made from aluminum. Some of the welds arent so bad, but some got cooked! Itll be interesting to see how it holds...
I got rid of cable almost 10 years ago! I have some crappy bunny ears if i want to see something, but i have never looked back.
I def need to upgrade my antenna game tho! Ive been doing some research as my girlfriend likes to watch 1 or 2 shows on reg tv...
