Dang... ok because i just painted all the fins and in theory i was going to just use a flat sanding block on the fin edges then polish it that way. i guess if it doesnt work ill just have to start over! Thanks!

Wait so does wiseguys sell whole assemblies with crank and rods? or are you saying just buy the one off ebay? The whole rephasing the motor seems like an awesome idea that i might do for another build but im just keepin it simple and cheap on this one... hopefully lol i dont have a 20ton press...

ironically i was just surfing ebay and looking at those, and yeah it the brass on the small end im not sold on. Lookin at 80 bucks for that plus 60 for shipping, since my crank is good im wonderin if i should just get new rods from mikesxs for that price?

Update to the night, took a good 3 hours to attempt to split the cases, until my idea got it done in only 15 minutes. It didnt fit in my oven very well and i didnt have a bunch of foil and a spare burner. So next best thing. Bbq at 220ish degrees for 15 minutes. Success. All appears good so far...

yep all good! kept it at about 220 degrees at 15min thanks to some wind, smooth as can be. whatd i miss?

Holy shit these cases are STUCK. Already attempted the oven idea, after i got passed the screaming wife to the oven only to find out it didnt do a thing. might give it another shot here after it cools back down. Rubber mallet didnt do a thing and im stuck :( And yes... i removed all 18 nuts...
