Any one used one of these? If so how far does it stick out from the original cover?
Thanks

dont know how much oil cooling it does, must be some though, it all helps, the better filltration is the big winner,sp112 it also fits KLX 300 etc.I also use mine as return-point for oil cooler good bit of gear.

I did a search on it and found a list of filters in an artical here. I think I used "oil filters" in the search. I got it for the paper filter more than cooling

the screw on filter stands out much more, but provides much more filter area.

it kinda looks like it would get in the way of your foot.

I am running this setup on my 80 rat. The filter numbers are as follows:
Honda - 15410-KFO-305 or 315
Honda - 15412-KFO-000 or 010
HiFlo - H112

I use the HiFlo filter just because there is a MC supply closer to me than a Honda dealer, and the filters are less expensive. I have had no problems in 800+miles of riding. The install is retardedly simple, and IMO it looks pretty cool. Make sure you clean it thoroughly prior to firing the bike up for the first time. Any marks from fingers and such are an annoyance to get out of the chrome once it gets baked on at operating temp. More time riding, less time polishing!

I've heard that the Heiden Oil cooler can reduce oil temps up to 20 degrees. anyone else got some figures to compare it with?

trying to justify the $150 for the upcoming summer rides...

there are a lot of claims I have heard of their stuff mostly from Mikesxs and I take most with about a pound of salt.

I personally would run the spin on filter, but be careful because if your bikes goes down on that side for any reason I will bet you won't be riding anywhere until you replace that filter.

I have not used That oil cooler/filter set up. I have modded a right side cover to run an external filter and cooler. The cooler I use is very close to the same physical size of the one Mike's sells. With it plumeb in I get about a 40-50 degree drop in oil temps.
A bit more than needed. Does any one running that oil filter/cooler have one of Dog Bunny's oil temp dipsticks? If so tell us what your oil temps are.
On a stock engine they run around 200- 220 degrees.
