OK.Since I'm still new to all this working on bike stuff,I have a stupid question.
I have an '81 so,if I've read correctly,I should have the BS34CV carbs. Is thais correct. Now for the stupid question. Will these work on my bike without changing carbs?Any advice will help.
Thanks,
Pat

those are for VM's, not CV's. its not a stupid question. it is a little confusing at first. you'll get it

How handy are ya?
Your stock carb setup works with one throttle cable, carbs are linked to use the one cable. You'ld have to seperate the carbs from their linked mounting bracket and then run a throttle cable for each carb OR be real handy and fab up a new carb link bracket to continue to run the single throttle cable.
Wonder why the clearance sale.......

marvin always says clearance.
what are your intentions with the bike?Because the cvs can be made to perform well. not as good as those vm's, but if yu already have the cv's and just intend to put-put around, here and there, use what you got. if you are biulding a racer, go for the vm's.

It's not a clearance sale. He had some problems over the winter and is only now getting back on his feet and trying to build his business back up. His products are good and his reputation is excellent.

Thanks guys. This is why I asked. It sounds like it's not going to be a direct swap so,I'll stick with the setup I have.
Plans are to hardtail it this winter and was just looking for something a little different.

Just want to support Teebs opinion on this fabricator, seller, supplier....straight up stand up guy who does some very excellent stuff and I too look forward to more. Blue

he's a real nice guy. before his shop opened, he worked out of his garage. He didnt even know me and a bud i hang with, he offered to test our stators, reg/rec, and rotors for free. practically invited us into his home.

OK,after finally getting a chance to put a few miles on it this weekend I've come to the conclusion that I need to clean the carbs. It seems to want to backfire while warming up and on deceleration.I also ordered some air pod filters.I figure while I have it apart for cleaning I'll need to rejet for the filters.Any suggestions on where to start?Everything else is stock for now.
