Project... "Track Star"

That tank looks great. IMO the stock graphics really work with what you have done already.

Spent lots of time on the tail section today getting everything fine tuned...

Spent today getting battery mounted, and electronics tray under the seat finished up. Then I was lucky enough to get to fight with the swing arm pivot bolt for 1.5hrs.

That's some fine looking custom work for that battery. Very cool. Quick observation (and may be just the camera angle) does the swing arm have potential to hit the bottom of the battery at the top of it's swing by chance?

Hi fox,
elegant minimalism on the battery holder, nice.
Didja get the pivot bolt out or is it still defying you?

Thanks Brass, yea it must just be the angle. Under quick test, the first thing to hit will be the underside of the seat pan on the tire, but I think the shocks will bottom out before that.

haha it's out now, but not without mashing a foot peg stud and completely destroying the threaded end of the pivot bolt. But I'm just happy that its out, I started to get worried when I threw it in the 8 ton press and it didn't budge.

My favorite part of builds.. all the new parts freshly coated.

Couldn't resist throwing the battery mount together for a quick look.

Looking good. I really like the color palate used here with the powdercoat.

In the past I've relied on a variety of paint coating including those used for firearms, and a lot of stubborn will polishing old metal. More recently I've tried powdercoat, and I think I'll be using it more in the future. Even some of the smaller parts you have here look very nice done up in powder.

I've really fallen in love with powder, I try to use it anywhere I can. On my last build the only two pieces that were painted were the tank and rear fender, everything else on the bike was powdered.

The battery mount @fox23 made for me as a result of my query here showed up today -- looks fantastic! Can't wait to find time to dig further into my stupid project bike and get this integrated. My 5 month old child might have something to say about my schedule...
