so I disassembled my forks to lower them last night, and to my surprise they are progressive springs! Only thing is I didn't see what direction they were installed. I searched but came up with no answer. So what direction do I install them? Tightly wound section at the top or bottom? Thanks!

According to Progressive's site it doesn't matter, but they say some manuals state to install with the tight wound portion towards the bottom for less spring noise.

The stock springs are wound tighter at one end, so it's no surprise yours are.
Some people think the tighter coils should be on top, less unsprung weight they claim.
I doubt it matters.

The factory springs are progressive. The shop manual says to put the tighter wound part at the top.

Don't know until you ask....you do have a manual, right?
Ive got 5 xs's and each had the tighter windings on the top. ...And 5t said so, so there!!

Yeah I do I just didn't even think to check it because I've been following Hugh's tech post.
