The front one could be off of anything, including an XJ1100. I'm not positive on rear wheel fitment, but my best guess is XJ550 Maxim. The larger displacements had shaft drive.

I think I read the 920 Virago was chain drive. I could be wrong.. Could they be '80s XJ Seca wheels?

They first appeared on the 1981 XS1100LH in gold as it was a Midnight Special. The 1981 Virago got them in black.

The one on the pictured bike came from a chain drive Maxim, likely a XJ550. Viragos were all shaft drive with the exception of the sporty XV that had an enclosed chain. That wheel was not 16 inches diameter.

Jeez, I didn't even notice it was chain drive. They look like my 82 Virago wheels, anyway.
The curved spoke wheels first appeared in 1981, AFAIK. By 1982, They were found on several bikes, including XJ and Virago models. Most of them were shaft drive. The smaller displacement bikes were chain drive. The 650 Maxim and 650 Seca were shaft drive, as were larger displace siblings. All Viragos were shaft drive.

The 550 Maxim has a 17 mm rear axle. Some modification is required to put that wheel on an XS650. Front is a straight swap.
