Hello everyone! First post and a year into my first XS. Im looking for a nice stock 1977 tank in maxi maroon. Also a nice new master cylinder. Original tank has dents and master cylinder looks rough due to spillage. Thanks!

I just picked up a 77 this weekend and the tank is the color your looking for, get me your email and i'll send pic's after I clean it, it has sat in a garage collecting dust since 89

Actually nope It's one i bought awhile ago and finally picked up.

But here is a couple pic's of the tank. I just did a quick wipe off, you will need to clean better and and wax it.

Let me know if your interested.

Looks pretty nice. How is the inside as far as rust? Has it been coated in the inside? Any dents? Would it be ready to put on and roll? Pics of the top if you can. Thanks for your understanding. Sgsteve

in the top pic there is a slight ding above the "M" in the gold and the bottom pic there is a tiny ding a in the maroon above where the last "A" is in yamaha i have to dig the key out of the boxes of parts lol the original owner was gonna restore completely back in 88 or 89 and completely disassembled it. so hopefully it is there i seem to have everything else so i'll check for you tomorrow, i know everyone here seems to think its a requirement to line all tanks but unless you have leaks and or other issues your trying to cover up inside it would be a waste of money and time and usually uneeded in my opinion, the clear needs a good buff out but i'll tell you this is a really good looking tank overall, In My Opinion considering it is 36 years old, i havnt seen the inside yet but i'll bet its good to go. Again i'll look tomorrow for the key and if i have the key i probably want to keep the cap since it matches the ignition keying.

lets go to PM's so it doesnt keep bumping to the top

Thanks again for the details. Just had a lot of carb work done recently and didn't want to take it back to my mechanic any time soon. I can use my original gas cap and petcocks as well. If the inside is pretty clean and it can polish up nicely ill take it from you.
