    leo the smoke was just some exhaust cement burning off. didn't see that there is a tube inside a tube.

    i have the same issue . i took out the old gasket . and cleaned up both mating surfaces and in went a new gasket . smoke is coming out of what looks to be the joint. i never thought of the gap between the inner and outer pipe. could be. .. how would you tell and how would you fix that. cheers!
