    Front wheel spacer

I'll have to take a picture of the setup I have, as of now. I won't be at my shop until tomorrow evening, so I'll post it after that. Maybe that could help clarify what I need? Thanks!

    Front wheel spacer

I do not have the double nut, with the square washer, setup. Everything seems to be in order, except the space that goes against the seal at the hub.

    Front wheel spacer

They are probably different from year to year, like a lot of other parts, but It probably IS this part, James. It also holds the seal in. Can't seem to find it for sale, anywhere.:banghead:

It looks like the part in the upper right corner...

    Front wheel spacer

It is neither of those. It is the brass spacer that is on the caliper side that goes between the fork and the hub. It is approximately 19mm wide, and about 25 mm deep; the axle pin would slide through it.

    Front wheel spacer

Sometime during my build, or the bike might not have even had it on there when I got it, I lost my front wheel spacer. I have a '73 xs650 and I can't seem to locate one that I can buy. I've looked on mikes xs, ebay and a general google search, but have found nothing. Does anyone know where I can...

    Custom exhaust sources, HELP!

Thanks, Avenue. The ya-mama pipes look good, just think that the curved drags would add to the overall look that I've built the bike to.

    Custom exhaust sources, HELP!

Anyone have a source for custom exhausts like Gordon Scott's curved drags? I have been waiting for months to finally be to the point in my build where I need them, but he is not taking any new orders and I don't know when he will. :banghead: Any help or direction would be GREATLY appreciated!

I did the tear-down and the cylinders look really good. I will be needing to buy the stock rings.

    '73 starter block off

Just installed the plug and it went well! As Cafe-Dave suggested, it needed to be ground down a bit, but it went in nice and snug. Thanks again, everyone!

    piston rings for a '73

All of the piston rings that they sell specifically say that they will not work with a '73 or they are for big bore.

    piston rings for a '73

I have not taken the motor apart yet. I am trying to get all the parts before I take everything apart. The motor only has 12,000 original miles on it, so I'm assuming that things shouldn't be too bad, internally. I ordered the full gasket set and timing chain and I wanted to do the piston rings...

    piston rings for a '73

I don't want to go big bore. Any idea where I can get the 256 piston rings at a decent price?

    piston rings for a '73

I have seen the posts that say that '95 honda civic piston rings would work in the xs650, but they never mentioned what years. Would these work in a '73? If not, any other alternatives to the "stock" rings? I just have a hard time eating the cost of $50 per piston for the stock rings (plus...
