Can anyone point me in the right direction for a dual throttle assembly control to fit 1" bars? I am trying to convert the 7/8" setup on my 74 XS650 to fit 1" bars. I am also looking for the correct clutch assembly as well. There are several options on ebay but id be just taking a guess on...

my MikesXS clutch cable snapped off at the lever this weekend. this cable had maybe 400 miles of riding on it. Its funny how after it broke I dug up what could still be the original cable and it works great. Is there a another source out there that provides generic clutch cables that may work...

I just purchased a set of Mikes brass floats that should arrive today. ill report back about the quality of them once i have them in my hands.

it does sound flooded while i kick it over without applying the throttle.

what would correct this problem? the choke gasket is new.

mikesXS, but be warned some of the parts are low quality and sometimes certain parts do not fit or equal the stock part size.. an example would be carb jets & needles.

curious as to what would cause the bike to only start if throttle is applied while coming down on the kick start. if i kick it with no throttle it will eventually after 10-20 kicks sound like its getting close to wanting to start. give it some gas durring the kick over and it fires over on 1...

needles are brand new. the clip is up one notch. i suppose i could raise it all the way and see what happens.

i can get a good idle. its the upper and lower midrange that are sloppy. im only one over on the main too. ive got a stock main on the way. the timing was checked and their are no air leaks at my carbs. carbs have been cleaned twice now. This bike is wearing me down!

just curious what your plugs look like?

took it for a ride yesterday and pulled the plugs when i returned. plugs look rich. Im one over on the pilot and have the stock pilot jet on order. im going to wait until it shows up before i mess with it anymore. i may just be to rich on the pilot. I will however start it up and try this...

there is also the possibilty of an air leak where the exhaust flange meets the motor. Ive notice that they look like their not sitting in all the way but i dont want to over tighten and snap the stud. can i spray starter fluid or carb cleaner in this ares to detect a leak?

the plugs were pretty black because i had the needle clip above the plastic washer and they were just blowing out causing the bike to run extremely rich. I cleaned them up with carb cleaner snd a wire brush. is it possible they got fouled? there really clean now and producing spark.
