    shift shaft oil seal

    To change the seal without taking out the shift shaft goes fine . Just drilled two holes in the old seal , (180degrees between) , two small screws , finally destroyed the seal , and pulled the seal out . Put on grease on the new seal before putting it on .

    Charging problems

    I took out the old rotor and stator , put in a old rotor an a old stator and everything was ok . This was the easy way to get around the problem , but I'm satisfied . I still dont know why and what the problem was .

    Meter on DC , measuring batt. = 12, 5V , meter on AC measuring from stator ,= O,0 V Measured brushes = 11mm. Still nothing goes to the rectifier.

    Charging problems on my 76 xs 650B. i have measured the Ohm between the phases from the stator , and between 1-2 , 2-3 and 1-3 I have .5 - .6 , after I've taken away 0.2 from my instrument . When I switch on the ignition , and put a thin metal blade on the outside of the stator ...

    Sonic Zeb's XS was in my mind to . I just cannot find a good similar tank anywhere , the ones in ebay must be from another year . Perhaps you guys know some other places ?
