Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

For some reason the motorcycle has been running beautifully I've ridden it around the neighborhood and nothing seems to stick out except doing the carbs when I get the downtime. (It does not leak or have any problems if I start it every day-2 days) I've also crashed it already, not much damage...

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

I have not done any major mods to the actual bike itself, just fix what sticks out to be a problem. And it should be the stock Mikuni BS34 jets in there, I'm not sure on the size but I haven't pulled them off yet to let you know.

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

Alright thanks guys I'll have to pull em off again. Although I'm still unsure whether it is a carb problem, after about 10ish minutes of running, going up and down the street, if I give it a rev the RPMs continue to rise until I have to shut the bike off. I know it's not a stuck throttle cable...

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

Yeah. I'll probably have to do that.. ALSO: I rode it around the block a couple times it seemed fine. UNTIL I reved it a bit and it had like a mind of its own, it'd go up to about 4k rpms and then back down and all over.. What is wrong with that?

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

Okay! So I got her running today she did not want to start, had to sort of do a 2 stroke method to get her steady. Gas was leaking out the air filter box like crazy, backfire in the left side, right side started to do it after a while (Just the backfiring). Also got new oil in it too. Help!

Do you need Oil in your Motorcycle to do a Compression Test?

Lubing the cylinders is just squirting a little oil into the spark plug hole isn't it? Thanks for the help!

Do you need Oil in your Motorcycle to do a Compression Test?

I've recently drained the oil from the bike, but I also obtained a compression gauge to test the compression. Should I put oil in her before attempting the compression test? Help is much appreciated.

Where the heck is the Oil Filter?!

Yeah, total comes out to about $70 including shipping. There isn't really a motorcycle parts place around here that I know off, unless O'reilys/Napa/Farm&Fleet would carry anything like that. Which I'm pretty sure they wouldn't. :/

Where the heck is the Oil Filter?!

Haha I got her off, oil spelt all over the kitchen floor, since I have my cycle in the house because it's too cold to work out in the garage. ;) Thanks for all the help guys.

Where the heck is the Oil Filter?!

One more problem, the damn thing is like stuck on there. I don't think the oil ever has been changed in it's entire life. (Since it was built) Any ways to pry it off?

Where the heck is the Oil Filter?!

Alright so, I'm unsure where the heck the Main Oil Filter is, I have the secondary filter out, cleaned it and is now ready to be put back in: BUT IS THIS THE OIL FILTER?: Otherwise I'm stumped and would appreciate the help. (I know this may seem like a dumb question but I've checked...

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

I just have one more question. Since I'm going to assume the cylinder was flooded, making it not fire, it's been about 6-7 months since it last turned on. Does this mean the gas that was in the cylinder leaked down into the oil? In that case I drained the oil already, and it's ready for new oil...

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

Yes the petcock has been rebuilt with all new rubber. And yes it was a dumb mistake. Haha

Yamaha XS 650H Special II Exhaust Problems?

Well since the winter really stopped me from doing any real work on it, when I took the gas tank off the bike, gas was continually flowing out of the petcock (When it shouldn't be). So I am assuming the left cylinder was getting flooded. There was a little washer that I must of misplaced putting...
