Ive got a 77 xs650 & was thinking about putting an airtec xrstyle seat w/ side panels on it. I was wondering if any of you xs boys knows if the rear frame hoop needs to be modified or any other big frame changes?any input would be great.

Well heres mine.Built this about 1980. Its a 750,34 mikuni's,kick only.I recently got thru getting it back in shape(i had forgot about it for awhile).Got to find time to ride.Found a '76 stocker,am thinking of buying it @building something similar.

As far as a fast idle goes,ofcourse make sure throttle shaft is returning to the stop and slides are droping down.If you still have trouble check valve adjustment.To tight on int. or exh. can make it idle high. Good luck!

Nice score rick! It looks like a'77,also looks like the gauges have been changed out. Definately needs paint though ,black always looks good.

Hey jeeter,thanks for the thumbs up.the rear rim is a takasago (stock rim)&the front is a DID.I had to replace the front years ago after the bike got thrown off a trailer in a wreck when being towed.

You may want to get another cyl.,i had trouble getting the the reservoir to seal to cyl. I ended up buying a new cyl. I got one off a site,I think ebay(aftermarket).It came with a rebuild kit and new lever.Its made in china but for fourty dollars its worth a try.Be sure to check bore size on...
