Everyone, here is where we're at! Working with Ian Halcott, a well known Cafe builder.
Gsxr showa front end, yoshi built 650 bored and stroked to 750, yzf450 rear hub, Buchanan sun rims.
Don't get your head wrapped around Yamaha too much. With the GSXR conversion, you can get new triples and then you don't have anything GSXR, you just have fully adjustable SHOWA forks- a fantastic and custom setup.
I've got an EASIER solution than all of these. Don't use R1/R6, use Suzuki GSXR-600 Front end (get from wrecker like I did fo $600), and then go to www.cognitomoto.com and order their CNC'd front hub bolt on ready, just have it laced up at Buchannans in LA and start rolling. Allballs will have...
I was thinking YZ250F, Talon hub (hopefully?). There was no Cush drive originally, so I'm not going to go for one this time.
What do you think about the 3.5" wide rim? I'm in Los Angeles, so I was going to have this strung up by Buchananan. I have COGNITO MOTO's GSXR front hub with a GSXR...
I'm thinking about lacing up to a 250 dirtbike hub and then custom making sprocket with whatever offset I need. Can I support a 4.25 rear rim? I know CB guys that have done it.
Also, any hub in particular?
Thanks,
Justin
I can get the swingarm, rear wheel, sprockets and disc VERY cheap.... will this work?
Can it fit in between the frame? What is the width of the frame at swingarm?
Any and all help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Justin
