Thanks for the input scrabber. I found the problem when I gave it carb kits and the kit gave a needles that was longer than the stock ones. I found the old parts in a jar and replaced the new with old and it runs great took it trail riding last week and plan to this Saturday!!!

My 1978 xs650 ran and all the sudden started to have a very high idle. I completely rebuilt the carbs with all the goods. Now when I start it it will run fine but when I give it throttle the right diaphragm completely opens whole left stays closed??? Do I need new rubbers for the diaphragms...

I have a '78 xs 650 special I got it running good and then it started to idle at around 4000rpm and won't go down. I tried to adjust the mix screw on carbs but no good results. What would be causing this? Could my floats need to be adjusted or maybe my timing?:banghead:
