no spark pamco w/ green dual coil

I hate saying this and I hope I'm wrong... But I think you fried yer coil! I have a dual green coil from Mikesxs. Directions say never to run coil with one wire! One being positive and one negative it would fry the coil... Sounds to me that's exactly what happened. But I'm no expert.

    Need help

Ahh...I missed that. Yeah if the automotive ignition is used then the solenoid sound like its getting power from the accessory or ignition side. So the wiring might just need switched. Ok then find the starter side of the key switch, I imagine is full forward. Thats where the solenoid...

    Need help

I know my reply was done in haste, but think of it like this... You need a button to "start" the bike. That button is actually energizing the solenoid, momentarily. Which will run the starter until you release it. So if you are turning the starter as soon as you key the ignition, you aren't...

    Need help

Remember this: When operating a solenoid, there is going to be the "switch" side and the starter side. The larger posts or screws are for the larger wire, or starter. So you should have a wire from battery to solenoid, then from solenoid to starter. On the two larger screws... On the switch...

I need pictures of kickstands...for reference

Yes the kickstand only mounts one way. But if it's "tippy", it might be because the kickstand is longer than the original. Even if it's by a 1/4" it will throw off the tilt. You could always heat it up and bend it out to give it proper lean. Although I didn't think there was much difference...

    G&L

Just a bump. When I had my service done in 2008, it took a long time to get everything back. Probably a couple months. But the wait was worth it, and I wasn't in a hurry.

I need pictures of kickstands...for reference

Its a 1977. You are a genius and that picture makes perfect sense. I am missing that piece, which is why I can't mount it. Either I'm gonna have to find it, or make one, or buy one... Talk about a solution!

Thanks Tee, but I can't see the underside (which is where I need to look) Guess I gotta find someone to take a picture or I gotta find a bike somewhere. Awesome looking bike though! Real nice motor and paint work there... I have a hard time believing that out of everything I can fix, a...

I need pictures of kickstands...for reference

Just what the title says. I'm looking for pictures of some stock or other kickstands for ideas... I just got done welding all my tabs and realized I still have the stock kickstand location. Isn't a bad thing, I'm hoping to be able to use the stock kickstand. But I think I cut off the hook...

    G&L

I contacted them back in 2007 to do my xs650. It did take a while to get ahold of them, but it was worth the wait. I haven't seen much updates to their website, so I don't know what they're doing now. Wow, feels like a decade ago when I got my bike done. But they are good guys and great...

    pickin up an XS400

Thats pretty cool at $100. I recently got an xs400 for $600. But its in good shape and runs good. Same usual xs oil leaks, clutch seal etc... Previous owner was not into preventative maintenance. But it is fun to ride,'after I put a set of clubmans on it.

    Mounting the Starter Relay

If you do mount it in open air, you could use rubber boots to cover the exposed cable ends. That way any moisture stays out of the relay itself. Seen all to many relays fail from water exposure. That or stay out of the rain.
