Ok I figured out that I have a bad voltage regulator. ( with the help of kind people on this site) Now, what's the best way to reach it to change it? I can't get to it with out removing a few parts. I just want to get it done with out taking apart more that I need to.

Is there a way to use this regulator on my bike? it appears to be the same as the regulator/rectifier unit I see on this page. if so how do I do the wiring from 7 to 6 wire connector?

I have a regulator for an 82 seca 650 that I tried. It has a 7 wire connector. my 81 has a 6 wire connector.

Is it possible someone put the wrong regulator on it.
