Anyone have any experience with these Chinese Brembo knock-off brake calipers?

$36 might not be a big gamble but I'm not sure I'd take the gamble with a braking system. You can find a 4 piston Nissin off a sport bike for even less than $36 and I'm guessing it would way out preform this caliper.

    Question on painting

+1 to what Iron_Inc said. As others have said, just be careful if it's a metallic paint. Go slow and easy and whatever you do don't go at it with sandpaper and your bare hands if you don't know what you're doing. Get a nice flexible backing pad for the paper so you don't sand finger grooves...

I was framed! Thoughts on how to proceed?

:yikes: Wow, was the PO a drunk? Looks like he was on something when he welded that up :laugh2: Safe to say no form of measuring device was used there. I would cut it down to where everything measures square again and rebuild from there. Try and use three or more points to square up the new...

Cool electronics box idea for someone

So I have been trying to decide what I am going to do for my electronics box. I had an idea I think would look awesome that I'm not going to use so I thought I'd pass it on for someone else. Someone hurry up and buy it before I change my mind :laugh2...

    Can someone answer this question

If there is enough meat on the bungs, I would just re-tap them to 3/8. They could be Metric or BSPT threads that somehow got mixed in. I don't know where those tanks are made but I do International buying for a living and we have found a few times out of China where 1/4NPT or 3/8NPT was not...

Wanted - 19" Mag front wheel

I'm hoping I can find a 19" mag front wheel for a decent price. Condition isn't important as long as it's straight. I plan to powder coat it. Thanks

TSox build thread, Bobber, Chopper who knows

I also modded the kicker a little. I bought a set of nice bike pedals off ebay. The threads are 1/2" fine thread. I don't have that size tap so I just got a nut and welded it on. I welded all the way around it. Yea, I know the welds are ugly. What ever Yamaha casts this stuff out of I don't...

TSox build thread, Bobber, Chopper who knows

Time for an update I guess. I haven't done anything major. I'm still waiting on parts. I've had three different things come in wrong so far :banghead:. I did decide I'm not sure this is going to be what most people would call a bobber. So I guess call it whatever you want :D I did get the...

    TC Bro air ride seat

I've been looking at the TC Bro air ride spring for my hardtail. It seems to get great reviews and I was ready to shell out the $ when I started looking at the pictures on their website. Is it just me or is the angle way off on the air bag? It would seem to me it would dampen way better if...

Next I had an idea to clean up this ugly front motor mount. I took a grinder to the 3 welds per side of that chrome cover and already it was looking nicer. I considered leaving it this way but I had these nice sleeves that are the perfect inside diameter. So I chopped the mount up even...

TSox build thread, Bobber, Chopper who knows

Update time, I finally got around to getting the hardtail welded on. It went pretty easy. The hardest part was getting everything shaved to my liking. I'm a little anal with the detail work sometimes. I say the most work on a bike is spent on things you don't see. Not my best ever welds...

TSox build thread, Bobber, Chopper who knows

A little update. Engine tear down continues with no more surprises. I welded up an engine stand with some junk I had in the scrap pile. Some brackets and a piece of square tubing from an old shelf and viola.... The hardtail showed up today so I began the process of preping the frame. Here...
