Capacitor will work but no spark with battery.

I got it. I checked the coil ground wire and wasn't grounded very well. Cleaned it up a bit and it started first kick with the battery in it.

Capacitor will work but no spark with battery.

Yes. Headlight, taillight and speedo light all work and the voltage is good on all of them. I have checked all grounds with a ground tester all solid.

Capacitor will work but no spark with battery.

So I had some prior electrical problems that I hashed out and now the bike runs with a capacitor. But it will kill at a stop light when the head light is on. So I went to replace the capacitor with a battery and no spark?? I would imagine the battery would be a direct replacement no? I'm using a...

Trouble with head light Pamco with Battery Eliminator Capacitor

Is the constant 12 volts from the battery conflicting with the voltage the the bike is putting out? Idk.

Trouble with head light Pamco with Battery Eliminator Capacitor

Me too. Now the battery is a direct replacement of the cap right. Sort of plug and play. Hooked up the same way as the cap? Or should it be wired up differently.

Trouble with head light Pamco with Battery Eliminator Capacitor

Update. So I Isolated the ignition with the battery hooked up no spark would not fire. So then I hooked back up the capacitor after a few kicks she fired right up. Then checked my voltages to the head light 30-40 volts. It was not the reg/rect.

Trouble with head light Pamco with Battery Eliminator Capacitor

Okay. So I replaced the capacitor with a battery for testing. I now have 12 volts to the headlight, taillight both can be on and work just fine. I checked the voltage on everything and I have 12 volts. I double checked my wiring and everything looks right. The key and kill switch all work as...

Trouble with head light Pamco with Battery Eliminator Capacitor

Not so much wanting to be a minimalist, I just don't have the means right now. I would have to grind out the box he has in there right now and find a place for reg/rec fuse block and all the other stuff packed in there right now. I do want to go battery just not right now. Want to get it going...
