just tried it but still no change on running engine plugs out ,the inner peg pops in and out so fast its back to where it was before i started tried doing it with the kick start slowly slowly but still pops back in . ive tried winding the large outer thread in to see if that helped it didnt .

bit the bullet and took the tacho apart, turns out to be a loose bulb shroud tube inside had come away and was moving inside . its all back together and now working as it should ,this was my first clock disassembly my advice just take it slow watch a few youtube videos. dont rush its not worth it !.

had the tacho apart something loose inside a lamp bulb shroud must have been fouling the magnetic part back together now sorted thanks for your input to all .

yes there is a second ground wire
