    ISO Not Mike's Commando Exhaust

OK, bit the bullet and purchased the Mikes "Commando 2 into 2 Exhaust System for 'Specials'" for my XS650G (Part # 07-0764). They arrived on Friday evening. Mufflers are EMGO 80-84034 as others have said and apart from a small dent in one of them, they seemed pretty decent. Headpipes looked...

    ISO Not Mike's Commando Exhaust

Hi 650 Trader I'm new to the XS650 group, so I don't have much history of what went on in the past, except for reading these forums. To be honest, I didn't know that there was a 'Mike' who started the business although I had tried to buy some stuff from the guys in Canada and worked out that...

Thanks 650trader. I can wait until August, so I'll keep an eye out for these. Do you know who will be stocking them?

    ISO Not Mike's Commando Exhaust

Thanks 5twins. I guess i'll keep looking for a while. Fortunately I have some other projects to keep me busy (and poor!). I'd read some reports on Mike's and I always judge for myself and to be fair, they've always been decent, but my last two dealings with them have not been good and left a...

    ISO Not Mike's Commando Exhaust

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a Commando style exhaust for my XS650G. To be honest, I don't want to deal with Mike's because of their customer service. They advertise their exhaust for $350 with free shipping and no tax, but when I went to buy it they said they don't offer free shipping on any...

    Mike’s Performance carb install

Thanks 650Skull, some good pointers in that thread. I'll have to see how far that small diameter gas pipe will stretch!

    Mike’s Performance carb install

Hi guys, looking for some guidance here. I’m rebuilding an XS650G that sat under a deck for 20 years. The carbs were pretty bad, so I bought the Mike’s performance carbs thinking it would be easier than completely refurbish the originals. Problem I have is connecting the 3 tubes coming out of...

    cam chain tensioners

Help! I'm doing a top end overhaul on a 1980 XS650 that fell in to my lap. The pistons had seized in the bores, so it needed some love and attention. I figured that I should probably replace the Cam Chain tensioner while I have the engine apart. Trouble is that I've read on this forum that the...

How-To: Rebuild XS650 Forks / Install Lowering Kit

This was a HUGE help! I looked at the diagrams, read this article . . . and still assembled in the wrong order! Checking back, I realized my mistake and re-assembled correctly! Great article for reference!

Wanted - 1981 XS650 Cast Rear Wheel - Hub Brake

Could be. I've seen other cast wheel / drum brakes, but they are normally from an XS400, which according to the parts books, is a smaller (2.75 v 3.00) wheel width.
