    I lean towards rebuilding also...you rarely see aftermarket as good as the original. I will look at the links before I begin since the valve will not be here til monday...it is original yamaha. Is there another good source for the kit..I ask that as lots of folks here warn of inferior...

    This is a 1977 with two original gravity feed type. The bike had not had fuel in it for three years. Both petcocks were frozen...levers. after some silicone spray in the top of the valve and sometime I got both levers moving smoothly. Right side seems fine but left leaks. Thanks

    I have a leak on the left one at the valve (round with the 4 holes. Rebuild kit is about 18.00 and there are lots of new on ebay in the 20-25 dollar range. I ordered a new valve for $6.00 from my yamaha dealer but that might be just temporary fix. Are the new ones any good or is it...

    Bought a bike today...1977 xs650 burgundy and gold... 19,000 mi. It had been properly drained and stored by a guy here who has a museum and a shop. It had some service right before it was stored and looks good. Needs some cleaning but has been started recently. $1700 Guy is even delivering...
