I'm ok, but very sore today.

Yeah..so that happened. Last night, I finished up syncing and adjusting the fuel mixture on my '80 XS. It has been sitting for almost two years with a rotor issue that I resolved a couple of days ago. So I was excited to take it out and test out the final result of the tuning. All went well...

I will have to check it again. At this point, all this is moot. I hit a deer last night on the XS, and it has other problems to deal with now. I'm alive to talk about it, and that's a good thing. The deer did not survive.

Got the rotor and stator back from Custom Rewind and all is good again. Charging at 14.87. Now for that carb tuning fun.

I'd budget $250-300 to start. That just about covers all the gaskets you'll need, a new cam chain, front chain guide, and other sundries. Cost goes up if you start replacing valves, pistons, rings..etc... That's been my experience anyhow...twice. Good times, and a really fun project as...

Bleeder valves are oriented a bit differently. See pics... You will notice the bleeder valves are oriented upright despite their mounting orientation front vs rear. Should still work fine though.

I wanted something in black, otherwise I would have considered the Tkat one. That one looks to be very well made. Not that the Tarozzi one from Fast isn't any good. I like it just fine.
