    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

Thanks for the link XSleo. New flasher on the way. Is it possible my 16 gauge wire is causing some resistance problems with the LED's? The signals came with a 20 gauge stranded wire. Super fine. I've got them connected to a 16 gauge wire that connects them to the switch.

    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

I put the original signal bulbs back on and I still get the same result. Signal lights on but not flashing. I mentioned that I rebuilt the switch. Perhaps I screwed something up inside. I've got a new one on the way. I'll keep you posted on the results. Thanks for the help so far.

    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

Ill correct that gggGary. I thought you meant to try the switch with the relay bypassed. My power feeds the relay and the brown/white from the switch feeds the signals.

    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

xjwmx, It's funny you mention that. When I took the flasher switch apart I suddenly had a brown, brown/white, and dark green wire in my hand with a nice little dab of solder attached to the ends. They came right off. I resoldered them. Brown/white going to the center cup of the switch. The...

    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

gggGary, Here is a link to the wiring diagram I used. It's the first one shown (gray background) http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61 I get the same result using the stock relay as I do with the new flasher relay. Same goes for no relay. The switch works to turn on the signal but no...

    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

Thanks for the reply gggGary #1 You're right. Ride it. I'm just trying to button up my rewire before I finish assembly. #2 Yes. The stock flasher is removed. I thought the Motrax would work too. That's where I'm stumped. I followed Kent D. Whites's wiring diagram with the edition of a few...

    National Flasher Relay Problem Month

Unscrambling wires has scrambled my brain.:banghead: I just rewired my '79 xs and I can't seem to get my LED signals to work. They turn on with the switch but don't flash. They just stay on. I bought a Motrax flasher relay for Kawasaki from cycle gear as it was the only one in stock. I figured...

    Fuel Tanks 101?

Thanks jayel. That was informative. Just to clarify. Vacuum type petcocks aren't specific to the 650 fuel system operations? They were introduced to make a user friendly bike (AKA idiot proof).

    Fuel Tanks 101?

Thanks guys, I'm starting to get it. The Pingel petcock would seem to be much easier to mount since it's a one hole application. Any Pingel will work? should I get wrapped up in the vacuum - non vacuum issue? And thanks to jayel for the WWII recap.

Angus67, Sorry, I'm not following you. "floating mount", "solid mount" Can you define this.

    Fuel Tanks 101?

Thanks jayel, and thanks J ray for nodding in agreement. Pingel petcocks look great, but are pricey. Are they worth the money or are the petcocks from MikesXS fine. Any tricks to mounting on a non stock tank? Drilling and threading holes, tight fit and so on. Thanks again

    Fuel Tanks 101?

Hello Forum, Can someone offer some insight about putting a custom tank on a 650? I would imagine that I have to use a 650 petcock. Or do I? Do I need to run two petcocks, or is one with a T in the fuel line sufficient? And then what's the most efficient way to do it? Close up the...
