Refitting refurbished forks and putting front wheel back in. Castle nut and washer on right hand side, fitted the axle and speedo drive and starting to tighten things up and wheel is binding. I thought I’d carefully kept everything to go back on - my question is - am I missing a spacer...
Would like to replace the 2 front brake lines that run to the single caliper. They each have a banjo fitting on one end and a female thread on the other that fits onto the metal pipes. Can someone please advise what these fittings are known by and what size etc.. so I can look into getting some...
Sorry if this has been asked before - I’ve looked in the technical stuff in the Garage for a list of torque settings for various bits of my 1975 B model
is there a list of these somewhere? I couldn’t find one and my Clymer manual doesn’t help. Any help gratefully received. Thanks
Ordered new tyres for my ‘75 model and will remove wheels before taking them to local bike shop for fitting. Haynes manual says to de-link the chain before rear wheel can be removed. Can someone please confirm that - or advise on a better way? Thanks
Got a new rear brake switch for my 1975 650B but I’m having trouble working out how to get to the spring on the pedal end to remove the old one and connect the new one. I don’t have access to a bike lift so if anyone has suggestions for how to to this I’d be grateful. Thanks.

so.. is the upgrade worth doing, if yes, can someone please point me in the direction for parts, what to look out for etc..
Thanks.

Advice please on removing the tripmeter knob on my 1975 B model speedo.
Apologies if it’s been discussed previously but I couldn’t find a thread. Thanks.
Looks like I need to refresh the tyres on my XS650. They are currently Avon Speedmasters (aka Deathmasters according to my local bike shop!) looking for recommendations from folks here. Thanks
Sorry - I’m a newbie. Just read the excellent thread from littlebill31 on adjustment of valve clearance. Can someone please advise the size of the square head on the adjuster and suggest a source for a spanner to fit, or options to swap out with a hex head as per his upgrade. Thanks
Just acquired a low mileage 1975 US spec XS650B. It has a non standard grab rail / sissy bar attached. Should the bike have a grab rail as standard for e.g. lifting the bike onto the centre stand? I’m a newbie so apologies if this has been discussed. I couldn’t find a reference with the search...
