Replacing the older Pamco circuit board

I thought I had responded to this the other day, with a thanks, but must be I forgot to hit send. Thank you for the info, Pete. I broke a kneecap the day after my first post, so have been sort of incapacitated. I'll act on this information as soon as I'm able. Again, thank you very much. Clay

Replacing the older Pamco circuit board

My Pamco died on the road at speed. Have had this unit performing excellent for about 3 years. My Son -in-law is the electronic brain in this matter, so I will need his final exam to check things out. All systems are good until I get from the coil output to the Pamco unit (green wire). I...

Here's my beater: 83 XS engine 74 Kawasaki Paugho chopper frame 79 Kawasaki rolling stuff This photo was when I was trying some dirt bike bars. Too wide. Got a set of clubman bars from Mikes XS just before Daytona bike week. Rode from the Gulf coast to St Augustine.....shoulders and...

    just checkin in

Just got back from the final weekend of Daytona Bike Week. Rode over from the Gulf coast to ST Augustine Fri eve. Down to Daytona Saturday and back to the hotel in St Augustine. Back to Daytona Sunday for a few hours and then back across the state. I certainly saw a lot of stuff, but...

    Minor oil problem

I have an 83 XS650 in a Paugho frame. I have a classic old headlight that the speedometer in the housing looks cool but doesn't work. Oh yeah, the oil problem. I had gotten a mechanical tach from Mikes XS. The problem is that at extended highway speeds (55/65 MPH) oil seeps out of the tach...

    Back pressure

FYI Guys: I reinstalled the thumbscrews in the ends of the pipes. I have them straight on, not crossways. My 'imagined' shudder, has all but dissappeared. I get just a very little now at low RPM with the engine under load. Like 25/30 MPH in high gear

    Back pressure

Thank you, Guys. I had "lollypop" baffles at one time (thumbscrews). Now that I have made some changes since then, I may stick them back in and see what happens. Geezerman

    Back pressure

Thanks, I'll check over all of these points Bike didn't used to do this. Son in law says it is harmonics acting up, probably what you are inferring as sympathic vibration. Thanks, Geezer

    Back pressure

Running fine with dual pipes completely open, ending mid frame. While riding, I feel intermitting shudders. Not an engine miss. Does not seem to be fuel problems as it occures at various speeds and power usages, Low speed, going thru the gears, applying gas, letting off on gas etc. Cruising...

    Sprocket chain tensioners

I'll concede that there must be some crossed wires somewhere in this deal. When I first took the photo to Vinnie (from a Mag) and dropped the name Ardcore to him, he brought up your website, while I was there, and said OK here it is, I'll order it. Today, Vinnie insists that it was Ardcore...

    Sprocket chain tensioners

Yer right. It is an old post. And guess who still does not have a chain tensioner, OK, yer also right that I didn't see the tensioner in your magazine ad. I DID see it in you ad on the XS650 chopper site! http://www.xs650chopper.com/ I took a HORSE magazine to Vinnie to show him what I...

    Sprocket chain tensioners

Good idea for using a clamp spring. I could resort to that even tho I'm not equipped for building. My bike functions fine. I have a long Paugho frame and a long chain. The lack of a tensioner is not keeping me from riding. That wasn't my main point in this thread however, which was, why do...

    Sprocket chain tensioners

This is the unit I'm referring to. I like the idea of having the spring tensioner. Bare knuckle choppers, Monstercraftsman, Ardcore, Lowbrow customs, and probably more show this apparently same unit in their ads. Was it just our bad luck that we (I) picked Ardcore first? Vinnie says...

    Sprocket chain tensioners

I think it's about time I aired this out.Coupla months ago, I asked my local mechanic to install a chain tensioner for me. I took him a photo of the one Ardcore was advertising, and gave him their web address. He contacted them and ordered one for me and also one for himself. Now, several...

    Cafe racer and Tracker seats

There was a thread in the garage section where one of the members was looking for a seat. Because MikesXS has been out of them for quite a while, and they are under new ownership, some of the recommendations were sources in Europe. I have no interest in this company other than it's only about...

    Phone Number for MikesXS?

Lotta stuff on my bike came from Mike's XS. No complaints. I live 20 minutes from Brooksville Fla, but still had to go thru UPS shipping. Have had good, fast service every time! Maybe the new investment group owners will put up a number you can call to get a service dept in India.
