    Simple Chopper Wiring Help

I forgot something important....no battery. Thinking about staying with points. I have to research the pros/cons of each. I'm still getting to know the website. Forgot all about the tech pages. Thanks 3g.

    Simple Chopper Wiring Help

It's going to be a simple build. Going to use cloth wire. Not sure if I'm sticking with points yet.

    Simple Chopper Wiring Help

The 72 Chopper Build has started. Will be running without battery. Headlight (high/low beam) and taillight/brake light. No signals or horn. I'm not the greatest at electrical, but good at fabing with a little direction. Anyone know of someone that puts simple harnesses together? Thanks in advance!

Here's the final parts count. Pretty much everything except the engine/ frame/rear wheel assembly. The seat is almost perfect!.... looks new, including the pan. Tank and side panels could use some paint. Cool patina though. Even has the original air cleaners. Rear fender has a few dents and...

72 Triple Tree Removal Help Needed

What's up y'all? Here's what I got... I'm stumped on removing the triple tree. No ideal what to do next. I've never torn down a 70's metric before (72 to be exact). I'm a Harley mechanic and have never tried to tear down a triple tree with a big adjuster. I'd just year into it, but I'm trying...

    For Sale - SOLD---Parting Out 72 XS650 to build a Chopper

Something I just thought of. I live in northern Louisiana about 40 miles south of Shreveport. I would be willing to load everything up in my truck and deliver to your front door if you buy everything. I'd ask that you cover fuel/hotel/food. Distance isn't that big of a deal (use to drive...

    For Sale - SOLD---Parting Out 72 XS650 to build a Chopper

I'm going to post pics this evening once she's apart. I'd rather sell everything at once for a lump sum, but will part out individually if no one is interested in everything. All proceeds will go to the rebuild.

    For Sale - SOLD---Parting Out 72 XS650 to build a Chopper

I'll be finishing up the disassembly today/this evening. Nothing is rusted that I've ran across (some surface rust, nothing major). Everything so far has been straight. She's actually in really good shape. Odometer reads 33,934. Looks to be accurate to me.

    For Sale - SOLD---Parting Out 72 XS650 to build a Chopper

Totally get where you're coming from. The bike (namely just the engine) has to stay in the family. What Dad says, goes. That being said, that's the only reason that I haven't done the exact sinario that you laid out. This will be a good jumping off point for my new son-in-law. He's new to...
