New Clutch Rebuild Problem 72 XS2

I have a guy working on my XS2. I bought replacement friction plates, including the extra one needed for an XS2. MikesXS didnt have steel plates in stock at the time, so I bought a couple off the "bay". The clutch is together and seems to be functioning properly, but I cant pull the handle in...

    Lithion-Ion Battery Use

I have a 72 XS2 with Pamco ignition and the PMA from Mike's XS. Any reason I couldn't use this battery? http://shoraipower.com/lfx14a5-bs12-p74 Pricey, but I've heard they're worth the money and it's the only one I've found that fits my battery box. Thanks, Matt

Tricks For Timing the Pamco While Bike is Running?

OK, that title is probably too long. I just replaced my throttle shaft seals and finally my bike idles at less than 3000 rpms. I had already timed it, but now want to re-time it with the carbs not giving me grief. Is there a trick for moving the Pamco plate to time the bike while it's...

Start diagnosis of my charging system

When I bought my '72, the guy said it had a charging problem. It has electronic ignition - Pamco, I think, he said. I got out my trusty Haynes and was going to start at the beginning, but no regulator or rectifier where it said they should be. Under the right side cover was a new looking 'solid...

    Wanted - Left side mold 71-74 xS650

I am looking for the "Mold"(parts manual designation) for a LEFT side cover for a 71-73 XS. It's that backwards C shaped piece that goes around the XS650 (on a 72) emblem. Needs to be in pretty good shape, but at this point, I'll consider any that are unbroken. I'm in the Chicago, IL area.
