Ended up needing a battery. The cap by itself isn't enough. I'm having a very hard time deciding on a battery/electronics box. The ones on the market I think kind of look like crap and I'd prefer not to have a gaping hole under my seat. Any ideas???

Anybody know of any videos for wiring? ('80 xs, new pamco with e-advance, capacitor, no battery, kick only) I've been waiting too long to have friends help me and I need to just do this myself. Any good how-to's? I have a wiring diagram already, but I'm a bit nervous to just go off of that alone.

Oh I didn't! Haha I thought about it VERY briefly. Luckily, Pete is the man and is getting me a new unit. Seems his reputation for excellent customer service has been accurate.

No that was my initial worry is that we wired it backwards because the labels on the PC board were wrong but we still ran green to green and red to red (which Pete said was correct and that the labeling was irrelevant). So we dodged that bullet thankfully!

Thanks Leo, I always look forward to your input. I emailed Pete last night and I know he's a busy dude, so hopefully this doesn't delay me TOO long. I'll look over the wiring again to see if I notice any issues, but with my limited knowledge, that's unlikely.

We only went that route because we weren't getting a spark even after replacing the regulator and coil for BRAND NEW units. Pete himself suggested to wire the ignition and coil to a separate charged battery. Once we did that, it fried for sure. The blue eadvancer box was too hot to touch with...

No not yet. My friends shop (where my bike is now) is an hour away and I'll be gone until next Monday now so it's goin to have to wait until then. I ordered a new ultimate cool from mikesxs this morning because we were using a harley coil yesterday.
