I just broke down and put some cocktail shaker mufflers I had lying around on there and it fixed most of the problem. First though I pulled the carbs apart to see what size jets were in there for the mains, and they were 145. I put some 135 in there and it made the problem worse with the open...

I replace my clutch pack and springs, and I was adjusting the clutch and the bike just started running terrible. It idles fine, but when you get on it, it starts to sputter extremely bad. Anybody got any ideas? Also, before adjusting it was running fine. Its an 82

Check the stator, I found out mine is bad today. Easy test and I guess it's common. Click on the tech button and go to the electrical section and there is a thread that is about charging issues. Read it. Also if you have a manual there are some good tests you can do in there to help you...

Yeah i recently found out that they did that, all they do is stick a block plate that covers part of the carb opening and then turn down the fuel mixture. That is a good idea I suppose.

I found an 81 or 82 xs650 for 200 bucks but it has no title. It has good compression and no spark, it is a complete bike and I am thinking I could get a lot more than that out of it just selling parts. Think its worth it? How hard is it to obtain a new title for something in WI?
