    Air filter setup, "the final solution" (?)

    As some of you know, I have 34 mm Mikuni TM/ RS linked flatslide carbs on my XS. First, I just used a pair of fairly large oval and tapered K&N filters directly on the carbs. These worked fine, but the side covers could not be used with them. Not ideal at all. Then I made some "velocity stacks"...

    1981 Scrambler XS 650 work in progress. I rescued this poor bike. The PO was riding it daily, when I got it home I found all the engine mount bolts were no more than hand tight. The engine ran great and the owner before the old PO had modified it somewhat and showered it with love and attention.
