noise in crank case

I rebuilt my 75 xs. 650. and just took it out last night For the first time. Seems to run good there are a few issues. I heard a noise that seem to be near the oil filter On the crank case. I'm assuming it's an oil pump issue any Suggestions on trouble shooting to confirm my suspicion? It...
