I do have the steel pipe.
I always toss the old rubber hoses, but you can buy a reproduction here:

You can also buy the steel hose there:
https://www.mikesxs.net/steel-brake-line-lower-xs650c-oem-533-25871-00.html
That's what I would do, but if you want to buy a good used original steel pipe from me, let me know.
I also have the little hose holders that clamp the hoses to the frame and forks.

I have bought the steel brake line from Mike. It's no go. Too short. The rubber lines are OK.
I believe this will work. That's Yamaha's part number.

I bought the XS2 parts cache in this thread:
https://www.xs650.com/threads/sold-parting-out-72-xs650-to-build-a-chopper.64830/
Parting out complete bike minus frame, engine, and motor mounts.
All parts are better than what you usually see, and many are nice or very nice.
I paid a premium for this cache, so I'm not going to give these parts away, but I'll beat eBay prices for comparable quality.
SPECIAL -- I have too many XS2 front wheels and associated parts such as axle, rotor, spacer, speedo drive, and will make you a very good deal on these parts.
Pics are from the above link. Better pics on request.

Hey there,
I'm interested in the air filter boxes. Just not sure if they will fit my 1971 xs1-b. They look the same, but I have heard that they are slightly different size. Please provide price and any info you may have on fit. Thanks, Roy

I only have 1972-1973 air boxes. You need 1970-1971 air boxes. They are slightly different.
With a couple of changes 1972 boxes will work. The biggest change is that you will need a 1972-73 battery box. I think you'd be better off using pods until you can find the 70-71 boxes. Don't trust eBay on this -- check the photos carefully. Somewhere on this forum the differences between the air boxes is explained.

Below is the air box differences. There are two 71 boxes on eBay. They sold already.

They now live at my house with new filters. I just put them on my bike about 30 minutes ago. Now I can get rid of the pods. I'm trying to figure out why I'm really low on power below 3,500 rpm.

I have lots of cases. Will sell a set cheap. Not sure if I have a 1972 set, but I might, and I think 1972-1983 are all the same. I'm sending you a PM.

I’d be interested in the forward foot pegs if you still have them. I’m looking for the metal peg, pin and spring.

Can you help with any of these?

Wanted XS650 Front End 35MM fork tubes
- Forks complete with lower legs
- Front Wheel Hub prefer drum brake if fork tubes are 35mm
If I need to go hydraulic to get 35 mm forks
- Caliper
- Master cylinder
- Rotor
