alright,

when i bought the bike it included some old uni filters on it that were starting to deteriorate. I went ahead and pulled the float bowls to check the current size of the jets and discovered that my main jet was a 127.5 and my pilot jet was a 40.....

from what I can tell is the standard should have been a 47

The bike performs horrible at low speeds, runs like a champ at high speeds. I always knew that the pilot jet would need upsized but has anyone ever seen a 40 in the bs38?

thanks

No, a 40 would be undersized. The early carb sets ran 42.5s or 45s, of the BS30/96 type .....

I saw that diagram this morning as I was inspecting my jet sizes and it had me thinking all day. from what I can tell a 40 was never specified so why the hell were they installed?

when you install pods you go up,,,,,,, not down

thanks for the clarification and helping me realize that all is well, just needs a re-jet
