1977 Yamaha XS-650D - FOR SALE @ $2,500

Purchased January 2014

Mileage indeterminate (Bike had mini chrome gauges when purchased; Reinstalled stock gauges which show 16,900 miles)

Modifications/Purchases made by me:

· Overall corrosion removal and polishing

· Tank and side covers painted gloss black

· Headlight bulb

· Chrome fork ears

· Reassembled/Reinstalled original instrument cluster and rewired previously snipped wire harness within headlight nacelle with wire matching wiring diagram colors.

· Steel braided front brake line and flushed brake fluid

· Front disc brake pads (brakes are still wooden compared to modern bikes)

· Bar end mirrors

· Clutch and brake levers

· LED turn signals and associated flasher relay

· Steering head tapered roller bearings

· Billet spacers for handlebar mounts/steering head interface (to eliminate rubber bushing flex)

· Swingarm needle bearings

· Battery

· Chain (630 O-ring) and sprockets

· Tires/tubes

· Oil filters (both engine and transmission)

· Points/condensers

· Rebuilt petcocks with kits

· Rebuilt carburetors with kits

· Allen bolt kit

· Used seat latch

· Includes some spares and Clymer manual (incl. complete gasket kit, unneeded spare wire harness purchased from MikeXS, oil filter, OEM turn signals)

Runs great and everything works but electric starter. Starts 2-3 kicks cold, 1 kick warm

Why selling? I’ve done everything I want to do with the bike. Did a tour of the Midwest while attending the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club annual meeting in Spring Mill Park Indiana and the Mid-Ohio vintage weekend (the latter of which I’ve done twice). Also Pigeon Forge, Tennessee VJMC annual meeting. Numerous local trips.
