Selling my xs, i'm broke, can't afford to have a toy, and need to pay for daycare, so I hope some one else can enjoy. photos to come.
asking 3500$, or best offer, (going by local historical prices)
it's set up for a taller person, (i'm 6'2, 240lbs), and it's quite comfortable for me, looks a bit different, with it's mishmash of parts, but runs strong, has generally been reliable, and is faster than you would expect (even with my fat ass on the seat).
basics: '79 special found in a field, has been resurrected, many new parts and changes, see following list:
engine:
780cc big bore, w/ wiseco pistons, 11.5:1 compression
heavy-duty clutch springs,
new valve seals etc.
will be installing a new head and rocker assembly shortly.
wiseguy's 1 into 2 intake (street/tracker), with stock VM38 carb, jetting is close, but still needs to be dialed in,
mikes' 2 into 1 exhaust, with short megaphone muffler.
heavier early kickstarter,
oil cooler
Electric:
new alternator rotor
new rectifier,
all new harness,
new fuse blocks,
unused "boxes" removed (reserve lighting unit etc),
new keyswitch,
other switch gear cleaned and reconditioned
new points, advancer unit, coils and condenser
Frame etc
Seat from a standard (year uncertain) mounts relocated to suit,
black tank from a '78, no rust or dents,
new rear shocks (basic replacement shocks),
swingarm has been stripped and rebuilt, (bronze bushings),
stainless brake lines front and back.
front master cylinder changed (used)
throttle assembly from a honda cb something or other,
handle bars from an older ninja 500, (i think),
new tires (can't remember brand off hand, modern round things),
usual polishing, chrome is in good shape.
