1982 Yamaha xj750, asking for 1200

I saw this ad on Marketplace. Going to look at it tomorrow. Current owner owns a motorcycle shop and it is a little too rough for his shop due to tank dents but rides perfectly. He says "after it warms up and you drive it it leaks a couple drops of oil when turned off. I would say less than a a quarter sized mark" any thoughts? I like the HP and the shaft drive. Looking for something to keep me from racking up so many miles on my XS650

Dont like it rusted dented leaking that a professional don't want to sell the regular way

Sends signals of being a lemon .Perhaps difficult getting parts
If I should consider it ---the test ride need to be perfect. And price come down

I told him I'd offer 900 and wouldn't drive the 1.5 hrs unless he agreed to take it. He said he gave 800 in trade and has a pretty good rating on Marketplace. Still unsure if want to go look at it cause if I do and it rides nice, I'd probably buy. I need a friend who knows bikes and is not emotionally attached. Thanks for being that friend, on this site there are many.
 
Sorry but that bike looks like a never ending money pit. The bike should be bought for less than half of the money he allowed on trade. $350-400 at best.
